Use of Am, Is and Are
There are three little words that we use often, whenever we talk about ourselves or about others. They are โamโ, โisโ and โareโ.
- Am
โAmโ is used only with โIโ. - Is
โIsโ is used with โhe, โsheโ, โitโ, โthisโ etc. - Are
โAreโ is used with โweโ, โyouโ and โtheyโ.
Here are the examples of use of โamโ, โisโ and โareโ:
- I am a farmer.
- You are a doctor.
- He is a soldier.
- They are soldiers.
- She is dancer.
- They are dancers.
